Photos: DC rally against ICE draws thousands

Thousands of demonstrators protesting against the federal immigration crackdown gathered in Washington, D.C. on Friday afternoon. The protest, which was organized in part by the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL), was held in conjunction with over 300 other protests across the U.S. in a nationwide demonstration organizers are calling “ICE Out Everywhere.”

The protests come after the murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The city has become a primary target for ICE operations amid the Trump administration’s crackdown, but ICE also operates heavily at home.

In 2025, over 3,300 Maryland residents were detained by ICE, around twice the number of 2024. ICE also plans to open a detention facility in Elkridge, Maryland.
